Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence will be the main investments in Information Technologies in Latin America during the next year, according to an IDC study made public today during AWS re:Invent 2023, an event of which takes place in Las Vegas, United States.

Alejandro Floréan, vice president of Consulting and Solutions at IDC Latin America, stressed that the region will grow by double digits in 2023 and that Peru is on the same page.

The study indicates that the growth of investment in IT Latin America in 2023 will be 15% over the previous year and that in 2024 it will be 11% over what is achieved this year. Finally, growth in 2025 is expected to be 13%.

Peru, meanwhile, remains in the order of 13% in 2023, 11% in 2024 and 13% in 2025.

“We are in a great moment for Latin America,” said Cleber Morais, sales leader for Latin America at AWS and director of commercial sales in Brazil.

In turn, Karla Wong, country manager of Amazon Web Services in Peru, highlighted the benefits that the adoption of public cloud services would achieve in the Peruvian economy during the period 2023-2038.

The FTI Consulting study indicates that the adoption of these services could generate 1.4 million jobs and would represent about 16.5 million dollars in GDP.
